Stretch marks are a form of scarring on the skin with an off-color hue. They are caused by tearing of the dermis which over the time may diminish but will not disappear completely. Stretch marks are often the result of the rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth or rapid weight changes. Stretch Marks can be removed by the application of specialized chemical peels at various strengths and tailored to your individual needs. The most commonly utilized peels (superficial peels) are painless and have little to no downtime. These can rapidly control outbreaks, decrease sebaceous activity and restore a healthy balance to the skin. A series of peels is usually required to obtain a significant scar reduction benefit from the procedure. Typically 4-6 sessions are performed at intervals of 2-4 weeks.
Fractional CO2 Laser is a special carbon-assisted laser skin rejuvenation treatment which uses a photothermal effect and photochemical superficial peeling to control acne inflammation, reduce sebum production, unplug pores and minimize pore size. Fractional Co2 can also improve some acne scars, uneven pigmentation and poor skin texture. CO2 Fractional laser works very good on Stretch marks and patients can return to work immediately after the scar reduction treatment. The protocol intervals are between 14 to 21 days with repeated treatments from 4 to 6 sittings for best results. This procedure can be performed on the face, chest or back.
